Why Consult Movie Reviews
July 3rd, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized — Movie CriticYou’ve probably watched a movie sometime before. If you haven’t, I wonder what planet you’ve inhabited all this time.
There are good movies and there are bad. There are so-so films, and there are probably more that you regretted paying to watch. That’s life. As they say, you can’t please everyone. The same is true with movies.
If you watch a movie, you are spending money. That means you expect to be entertained, informed and amazed. You’re not in the movie house to feel bad or to feel suicidal. Life is already full of difficulties. So that means that you also want your money to be worth your time. Otherwise, why bother watching a movie?
To know which movies are worth watching and those that are not, you need to consult movie reviews. Although movie reviews are as diverse as the critics that write them, the overall rating that critics give a film would be worth looking at.
Movie reviews give you an idea of the story line of the film. I know you don’t want to read about spoilers, movie reviews can give you an idea of what to expect from the film. Is it going to be a drama, action, or comedy? Is it based on a book or on the life of a famous character? These questions and more are dealt with by a good movie review.
Movie reviews set your expectations. You might have been following the projects of your favorite actors and actresses. Through the help of movie reviews, you can set your expectations as to the performance of the movie.
Consulting movie reviews does not take up more than 15 minutes of your time. So it’s best to read them before heading to the movie houses. If the critics are right, well and good. Their credibility is enhanced. If not, then it’s time for you to consult other movie reviewers.
