American Idol Las Vegas – Someone Hand Me the Remote For a Channel Check!

Yee ha, American Idol is going to Las Vegas. Well, it’s about time considering American Idol has been in Hollywood, and everyone in Southern California eventually goes to Las Vegas. It’s not that far away, with or without this proposed stimulus bill for a bullet train. I am not sure why American Idol is going to Las Vegas, other than Las Vegas needs more promotion and publicity to get people to go back and gamble again. We all know that Las Vegas was one of the worst areas hit during the recession, so it’s good to see a little activity going on there.
The City of Sin does deserve a little bit of the spotlight after being condemned by various politicians, as some sort of an executive bonus, retreat get-away, and high-end resort reward, which is supposedly somehow bad. Indeed, the workers in Vegas have paid dearly for those comments, as over a third of the casinos have gone out of business in the old part of town, and 35% of the labor on the strip has been laid off.
That’s not very funny considering the housing market crash really took its toll on areas like Centennial, Seven Hills, Henderson, and North Vegas. In fact, the foreclosure numbers in that area are some of the worst in the country.
Nevertheless, I am wondering why American Idol has chosen SimCity for their next big “hoorah!” As it seems to me, the reality TV Show talent contest is getting a little ridiculous, as some of the contestants have no business being on stage, they turn the whole thing into a joke. And this is why I am happy to have a remote control TV set, would you please hand me the channel clicker, because that station is gonna get flipped. Please consider all this.
