Avatar Crushes Titanic

Actually, it sinks Titanic. Check it out, James Cameron, the only guy that’s ever done a movie, and I mean ever, to top $1 Billion has just done the second movie that tops $1 Billion. They’re reporting right now that James Cameron’s Avatar movie is going to top $1.3Billion in the box office this weekend. The only man to ever get close was James Cameron’s Titanic. They did $1.124 Billion.
It’s Incredible that the same guy could beat his own record in the movie industry for top grossing films. The only guy to ever make over $1Billion in a week is also the second guy to make over $1Billion. This proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt that James Cameron is the most bankable producer or director in the world.
I saw this movie myself last weekend and I will tell you, I wasn’t really looking forward to it. I decided to take the kids. Well after all the hoopla had been over with and the movie was off at the theatres, I have to say, the movie is absolutely stunning.
Most of the time, I’m really not into the fantasy or sci-fi kind of thing, but this movie really had a great story line. Since it was going to be two and a half hours long, I already had the 3-D glasses on, slumped down in the chair, ready to go to sleep five minutes in, and I ended up watching every minute of the movie on the edge of my seat. It’s really a fantastic film.
If you haven’t seen it yet, go see it. Take your kids to go see it, it’s great for a family and as soon as it gets out, get it on DVD. It’s just a fantastic movie you’re going to want to have forever.
