Kristine Hermosa’s Roller Coaster Fame

Kristine Hermosa is making a buzz in the showbiz world again. This is due to her comeback team-up with Jericho Rosales in a TV series titled “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” in Kapamilya network ABS-CBN.

It’s been a while when I last heard of Kristine in the news. Although she starred lately in a weekend series, the press seemed not to care and Kristine didn’t get too much place in the headlines.

It was in the year 2000 when Kristine literally rocked the Philippine TV when she and Jericho topbilled “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” in a primetime slot in ABS-CBN. The soap opera topped the TV charts during its airtime. The Kristine – Jericho love team was also born in that time and it generates a huge following.

The show was followed by “Sanay’s Wala Nang Wakas” in 2003, “‘Till Death Do Us Part” in 2005 and “Gulong Ng Palad” in 2006 which were all chart busters in their time. In fact, all of the shows mentioned above occupied the number one spots most of time during their airtime.

Then Kristine’s career came to a slow. That’s the time when she fell in love and married actor Diether Ocampo. She was always saying that she was contented in her married life and far from showbiz intrigues. She hid herself from the limelight and took most of her time in her married life.

But an actress is always an actress. Kristine started to appear in different shows in ABS-CBN after a long hiatus from showbiz and tried to start her career again. That was also the time she revealed her marriage failed. She openly accepted she married the wrong guy and the fans sympathy made her stronger and slowly returned to the mainstream showbiz.

Now, she’s back in Jericho’s arm in “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” and the press and critics are giving positive feedbacks inthe upcoming show especially it is backed up by a powerhouse cast like Lorna Tolentino and Gabby Concepcion.

Many are asking, is her upcoming show will catapult Kristine Hermosa into the stardom that she had before? Kristine is no doubt a great actress and this break will be another chance for her to show she is back and never to commit the same mistake again.
