How to Avoid Spoilers and Still Know If a Film is Worth Seeing Without Ruining the Movie’s Plot

So you want to know whether or not to see a film, but you don’t want to ruin the plot for yourself. So what do you do? You certainly can’t grab that latest paper and read the review. You also can’t read user reviews found on the web. So how can you be assured that you won’t spoil the film for yourself if you do decide to see it, and still be able to make an intelligent, informed decision about whether or not to see a movie? In this article I will show you how to do just that, but first let’s take a deeper look at why you should avoid spoilers in the first place.

Everyone knows that the tiniest movie spoiler can ruin even the best film. This is why you don’t want your friends to tell you all about a film you haven’t seen yet but plan on going to! If you already know something happens in a movie, no matter how hard you may try to put it out of your mind, you will be watching and waiting for it to come and the element of surprise will be completely lost. Even so-called spoiler free movie reviews include spoilers, because even if they don’t give specifics as to what happens, they will state things such as “surprising plot twist”, and if you see the film, you will know it’s coming. You just want a movie review without spoilers!

So what do you do if you want to make an informed decision about whether to see a film but are unsure if a film will leave you feeling good. For example, what about a serious drama that could take you on an entire roller coaster of emotions throughout the film, but you are just unsure about how you may feel walking out of the theater. You don’t want to know what happens specifically, but you want to know if the film will leave you feeling even more depressed than before you walked in. Essentially you are asking if the film will be an overall rewarding/uplifting experience. You don’t want to know all the specific details, you just want to know if it is rewarding.

The first step is to avoid user reviews and typical movie review sites from critics. These are filled with details of story and specific plot lines, which are exactly the kind of thing you are avoiding. Look for sites that give star ratings or simple grades, this way you can get an idea of whether the majority is coming away feeling like the film is worth it. This will let you get a sense of the film’s value and also be completely free of spoilers!

Mr. Fos – Movie Reviews … Free of Spoilers! : Here is a site I found called Mr. Fos – Movie Reviews Free of Spoilers. – mr. fos utilizes short descriptions, quick thoughts of films and polls that visitors can vote on to give a general idea of whether the film is worth seeing, without spoilers! If you have seen a film, or don’t care to be spoiled, you can head on over to the non spoiler-free portion of the site (comments section) and see reviews which contain spoilers as well as write your own.

Yahoo Movies: On Yahoo movies, you can go to any movie page and see a quick letter grade average from critics and users. This way you can see what people think, without any spoilers!

IMDB : The internet movie database. This site includes star ratings rated by users of the website for any film. This also provides a quick check of what people think without ruining anything!
